A bit of trivia for you. Remember that Kawasaki and Suzuki didn't make the caliper, Tokico did. Last photo verifies parts used. Previous owner scrubbed every last bit of shoe material off the pads.

While this did indeed come from a 1979 GS1000L, caliper part shows to fit various model's. Piston bores packing seal lands were in good shape and was not a leakier before cleaning. New 1 stainless piston, 2 packing seals, casting joint square o-ring and both brake pads. Assembled with red rubber assembly lube not brake fluid.

Assemble, bleed and ride. Suzuki casting square o-ring part is equiv. Have a great day, clay. To Kawasaki part manufacturers just have their own numbering systems.

One piston had some pitting the other was in great shape. I didn't want to just jam the exposed piston back in bore without checking everything first. I do a lot of Tokico Kawasaki calipers from this era and already had parts here. Teflon tape on the bleeders to assist in, well, bleeding.

To Kawasaki part Suzuki 1979 GS1000L rear caliper. Please do your research to verify fitment if different. Note that a couple are Kawasaki labeled packages, packing seal and casting joint square o-ring. Both dust boots were in good shape.

Suzuki packing part 05cf0 is equiv. Caliper to torque link bolt washer nut and clip have been re-plated. This keeps fluid from winking out, making a mess and air sucking-in.
