The 1975 Rupp Minibike Roadster 2 with a 4hp Tecumseh engine and a lighting coil (part number 5803008) is a viable option for those looking for an affordable, vintage minibike with a classic appeal. However, potential buyers should be aware of the minibike's limited performance, potential reliability issues, and lack of modern features.

Recommendation:

If you are interested in purchasing this minibike, be sure to thoroughly inspect it beforehand and consider the costs of maintenance and repairs. Additionally, research the availability of replacement parts to ensure that you will be able to keep the minibike running in the long term. If you are a beginner or looking for a leisurely ride, this vintage minibike may be a suitable choice. However, if you are looking for a more powerful or modern minibike, you may want to consider other options.

Details:

The opinions expressed above as to condition etc are my opinions, others will vary. They either came brown or a purple magenta color. Has original 4hp tecumseh hs40-55388e-sear-5121b with lighting coil.

To be a perfect recreation this minibike would need new headlight bezel as the one on it is cracked, see close up picture.

It looks great, runs and drives great. This is not a total restoration as that term can be misleading. I used a different working throttle assembly when assembling the minibike.

I also didn't replace unobtainable parts like original clutches, head light bezel etc. During the assembly either new or reconditioned original parts were used.

It runs strong. Is this a perfect roadster 2.

There is a video of it running and me riding. What I did do was recondition those parts to the best degree could and reinstall them. I'm honest in what was done.

It rides well and handles the front rear brakes work good. All the lights work including brake light.

Go to video and look for video number I won't list every single, tiny, part bought new but will a few main items. It has original Rupp tires that are in good condition was the last year roadster 2 produced. New Rupp seat cover, foam, grab bar, belt guard, all decals, brake cables, wiring harnesses, light switch, handlebars, tail assembly, levers, foot pegs and front strut tubes boots.

This minibike will satisfy someone looking for a nice Rupp roadster 2 to ride or take shows. I left them natural. Ready to go. I painted everything and added new parts to make a beautiful Rupp roadster 2.

It has a few non Rupp parts and doesn't contain every single detail or stock part installed at the factory. I can't post a direct link here. This is a rare year and color for the roadster 2. Entire minibike was disassembled then all paint removed and taken down to bare metal.

Study the pictures. High quality automotive materials were used. Ready for shows or rides.

The original hs40 ran well, lighting coil worked so I painted engine and reinstalled it. A lot of new parts were installed during the painting process. Epoxy primer was applied to bare metal followed by urethane primer, base coat paint and clear.
